Our Commitment
NextStep builds software for educators and students, and we believe it must work for every one of them. Accessibility is a product requirement, not an afterthought: we audit our surfaces against recognized standards, fix what we find, and report honestly where we still fall short.
Conformance Status
NextStep Workspace (the desktop app and the account hub) is evaluated against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. As of the most recent evaluation, our Accessibility Conformance Report rates the product:
- Supports: 44 of 55 criteria
- Partially Supports: 0 criteria
- Does Not Support: 0 criteria
- Not Applicable: 11 criteria (the product contains no such content, e.g. video, audio, or flashing content)
No criterion is rated Partially Supports or Does Not Support. The full report, with per-criterion remarks, is published as the Accessibility Conformance Report.
Known Limitations
No applicable criterion is rated below Supports. LMS surfaces are out of scope for this evaluation.
Compatibility
- The desktop app is supported on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- The account hub is supported in current versions of major browsers.
- Screen-reader announcements for streaming replies and settings changes are confirmed with VoiceOver on macOS.

We welcome accessibility feedback and take it seriously:
