NextStep Workspace

Try NextStep without leaving Canvas.

NextStep Workspace is a desktop app that runs your school’s Canvas beside an AI assistant that works on it with you. Grading passes, rubric feedback, deadline roundups, and course questions get handled next to the LMS you already use, not instead of it.

Free for macOS and Windows. Sign in to Canvas the way you always do.

Your Canvas, unchanged

Canvas runs in the app's own browser, and you sign in the way you always do. No migration, no IT approval, no API tokens.

An assistant that does the clicking

Ask in plain language. The assistant reads your courses and works Canvas alongside you, drafting feedback, filling in grades, and rounding up deadlines. You review everything it does.

NextStep, before the switch

Workspace is the NextStep experience on top of the LMS you already use. When your school is ready for the full platform, the move is ours to earn.

How a pass works

You direct. It does the busy work.

01

Ask

“Grade the argument essays against my rubric and draft feedback.” Plain language, straight into the composer.

02

Watch it work

The assistant opens the gradebook, reads submissions against your rubric, and works through a visible task list in your Canvas, right beside you.

03

Review and post

Every score and comment waits in a review queue. Accept, edit, or reject; the assistant posts only what you approve.

Same privacy guarantees

The assistant runs on NextStep inference, not someone else's API.

Everything the assistant reads and writes runs through our own inference, inside NVIDIA Confidential Computing. That enclave is locked down far enough that even we can’t see the responses. Your courses never train anyone’s models.
