Summer Quarter Intern

About the Role

This is a 12-week full-time (~40 hrs/week) internship based in-person at our Auburn, WA office. We are hiring on a rolling basis. We enthusiastically support OPT and international students.

We’re looking for high-agency software engineering interns who want to own real work at an early-stage startup. You won’t be writing throwaway code or sitting in on meetings — you’ll be shipping features to production alongside our founding engineering team.

As a small team, you’ll touch the full stack: frontend, backend, AI integrations, infrastructure. If something needs building, you’ll build it. We care far more about your ability to figure things out and move fast than about any specific framework on your resume.

What You'll Do

  • Ship production code across our AI-powered learning platform from week one
  • Work across the full stack — frontend, backend, APIs, and LLM integrations
  • Collaborate directly with the founders on product and architecture decisions
  • Help build multi-channel delivery (web, Android, WhatsApp, SMS)
  • Tackle open-ended problems with real autonomy and ownership

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Strong fundamentals — you can pick up new languages and frameworks quickly
  • High agency: you take initiative, ask good questions, and don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — this is an early-stage startup, not a structured corporate program
  • Genuine interest in education, AI, or using tech to expand access to opportunity

Nice to Have

  • Experience with any combination of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or Node.js
  • Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI application development
  • Prior startup or side-project experience
