2017 is the year CO2 emissions by China are expected to exceed those of the United States.
However, the average US resident emits 6 times the CO2 that the average Chinese resident does.
 
  • 80 percent - Portion of electricity in China that comes from coal
  • 50 percent - Portion of electricity in the US that comes from coal
  • 10 percent- Portion of US power provided from hydro, biomass, solar, wind geothermal
  • 03 percent - Portion of China power provide from hydro, biomass, solar, wind geothermal
  • 15 percent - Portion of China power mandated by 2020 from those renewable sources.
